sunday evening. summer officialy ended.

no
its not (only) because rain is pouring down again.

its because, for a long time, my breather finally made its way in a really unexpected form.

no
its not (only) because ill be going to tagaytay with friends tom and go crazy with "peteranswers"

its that moment, that, hmmm, how do i describe it, that... "warm" moment outside of jollibee that signalled the end of summer.

so i went to jollibee to have dinner. the usual. after eating rain suddenly poured down. darn, i thought.

i hated the music playing inside and the manager was looking at me in a very, uhm, "strange" way.

i went outside and decided to hang around with jollibee, you know,  watch the rain and stuff.
hell dont go all "geez, such an emo moment bono" cause you know, you can never be emo with that big red happy bee with you. :p

anyways, so i was there, almost tempted to light a stick after 4 months of hiatus. la lang, figured it was darn  cool to smoke right next to a big red bee while it was raining. multiply pic din un. pa-cool. angas effect. something Soderbergh will do. labo.

there i was, resting my head on the bee's wanna be mickey mouse hands, when this guy around 29ish i think joined me outside together with a 5ish year old girl.

obviously, dad-daughter. the mom left inside, dont know why.
actually, come to think of it, its weirder that the dad insisted to go out with his daughter.

with my head still on the bee's cold wet hands, i was looking at the two of them. listening.

the usual. kid asks bunch of questions. one after another. ready to fire one anytime, seemingly insistent to put down his father and irritate him with logically illogical questions (or logically illogical ones). eventually in the hopes of winning the wordplay.

the dad was amazing. calm, funny, patient in answering her questions.
also, with no apprehension of answering "i dont know," when he himself cant seem to find any answer.

the daughter pointed out to the two kids fully naked running around katipunan and playing under the rain.
the texture of the rain and concrete with headlights breaking in between, the sound of the rain dropping and splashing - wish i had a vidcam with me. katipunan then was of sheer beauty.

the dad looked at the kids, fell silent for a while while his daughter was puzzled looking at him.
he suddenly laughed. and said "and saya-saya nyan!"

daughter replied "huh? how?" (yeah, the english speaking kind of filipino kid)

dad said, "ang lamig lamig nyan, without any clothes on"

then, dad went inside, talked to mom. went outside and gave her daughter a piggy ride.

they went out in the rain.

it was a long summer. summer before my final year in college. a year that is sure to be... "full" to say the least.
it was a long summer. even though many was left unsaid or well, left, period - there were no space to breath.
it was a long summer. decisions had to be made.

tonight, summer ends.

or to be more precise, a decision has been made.

my last year in college, among other things, has begun.

i want to be a dad. a great one that is.

for some strange reason the upcoming summer may turn out to be the best yet, after all, its my "last" one.

all of the stuff above help me make through the shittiest hell week so far (damn you statistics!!!)
and hopefully the stuff above will help me prepare/make for/through the upcoming two semesters of utter-sheer impossibility (well, not quite impossible, just plain diificult)

sa ngayon, lalalala hahahahahaaaaay, tawa sabay sigh muna...

24th-Apr-2006 07:33 pm - keeping myself away from anger
38th boy

la lang.
fave films? well, i could easily say something filmy like "8 1/2" or "Father and Son." or "godfather" the staple answer for most men. or something like "magnolia" or "eternal sunshine" and yes, "me, you and everyone else."  probably something non-hollywood like "amores perros" or "manila by night." or for laughs i could mention "the matrix 2&3."

but you know what, to hell with cinematic excellence and artsy-fartsy shit (like my MA classmate, argh!).
i will still choose these three films over any oscar winning piece.

for who could ever learn to love a beast like me...
I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
We're gonna be okay. Come on, let's go get some ice cream

...all along i thought i was superman.

i need to learn to say "no" more often
...or better yet, they could just stop asking.

i would like to bury myself in sand. sand along the shore, not those in an hour glass.
sleep. i guess i have no choice but to succumb to medically induced ones.
13th-Apr-2006 01:22 pm - pressure, breather
38th boy
i need a breather.

just got back last tuesday, went straight to katips to meet for some lfc stuff (again).
cheers to driving around, naruto, stupid-curious yoda, snores, piolo pascual pose, EP, the P family/home...
cheers to the turtle brotherhood

cheers to the wednesday breakfast club
cheers to gali's driving abilities

got wasted before going to my friend's gig at this small bar, freedom bar i think, somewhere in i dont know.

half of the bands were really crappy, but there were some really really great ones.

one band played two songs both titled "pressure."
i felt like i wrote the lyrics of both songs.

damn it. i need a breather.
ill try my best to avoid work and alchohol.
at least for the next four days.
i need a breather. a real one.

im finally home. batangas lovin.
sleep, i need sleep.
i wish i can.
i will.
5th-Apr-2006 09:30 am - boss dibidi?!
38th boy
'ward and Harp picked me up yesterday. we went to three independent theatres to watch well, you know, films.

we started with "Brick," winner of the sundance special jury price for "originality of vision." its a great watch, being a "noir set in high school." like a cross between "Chinatown" and "Mean Girls" har! really, really good. im a big fan of Joseph Gordon-Levittits' performance in "Mysterious Skin", but he was way better this time.

then we went to see "Slither." har! lol lang kami ng lol (lolz! argh, shit)all throughout the film. uber-laugh trip, its a horror-comedy of sorts thats just plain cool and stupid at the same time! its "resident evil" gone nuts! big red slimy bell peppers plaguing a small town! jeez, i want to see it again!!!

after, grabbed a OZZY OSBOURNE DOG at Pink's, the best hotdog stand in the world. *burp*

for our final film, we decided to go mainstream and saw "Basic Instinct 2." ive been waiting for sharon stone to take on this role again. hot... me happy, me very happy.

had dinner in a *gasp* chinese restaurant. moving on...

we decided to spend the night at ward's place (what a cozy pad). we were just in time for Sundance's newest series "CITY OF MEN." sounds familiar? yes, it is a kinda a spin-off of the movie "City of God." its set in the same place, with the same stuff of drugs, crime and gangs. the writers and directors of the movie and series are the same and some of the movie's cast are in the series as well. City of Men focuses on the story of two kids (remember the last scene?), best friends, in the middle of all of the said stuff. really good, too bad i wont be able to watch the following episodes, damn.

today? nah, i wont be doing anything much, just try to sleep i guess. and im going to watch a fresh episode of... "one tree hill" ?!? urgh, bah, shit!
